- Yuvraj set a target of atleast 400 Test Wickets for Bumrah
James Anderson has become the only fast bowler to claim 600 wickets in Tests. The Englishman achieved this feat, earlier on Tuesday. The Pakistan Captain Azhar Ali’s wicket helped him, reach the milestone. Even though, the final Test ended in a draw. But, the Three Lions won the 3 match series 1-0.
Anderson is the fourth bowler to breach the 600 mark, but the only fast bowler. The rest are all spinners. Although he is 38-years-old, Anderson has vowed to play yet another year. As soon as the Lancashire bowler hit the target, messages started flooding in. Thus, players worldwide congratulated him on his feat.
Indian cricketers including Yuvraj Singh and Jasprit Bumrah also took to Twitter to laud the ‘King of Swing’. “Congratulations for your remarkable achievement @jimmy9! Your passion, fortitude and drive are exceptional, cheers and best wishes for the future. #600TestWickets,” Bumrah Tweeted.
Following Bumrah’s tweet, Yuvraj replied to the Indian bowler. The former Indian all-rounder set a target of 400 wickets for the young seamer. Bumrah presently has 68 wickets in 14 Tests at an average of 20.34. Bumrah has made rapid progression in Test cricket since debut. With fitness and consistency, he can surely bag 400 scalps.
“Never thought I’d see in my lifetime a fast bowler take 600 test wickets! It’s not just the quantity but the quality with which he has bowled – be it slow or fast wickets, bounce or no bounce, seam or no seam, for him conditions never mattered! Sir @jimmy9 you are the #GOAT.” Yuvraj wrote in his Tweet.
