Deepti Sharma Expresses Gratitude On Recieving Arjuna Award

Owing to her exceptional performances, Indian women’s cricketer Deepti Sharma recieved the Arjuna Award. In a short period of time, Deepti has scored a heap of runs. Besides, she has also managed to bag wickets. With her, Indian men’s pacer Ishant Sharma, recieved the Award as well.

Deepti has played 54 ODIs and 48 T20Is. She has scored over 1500 runs in total. Combining the formats, the 23-year-old has over a hundred scalps in her tally. Deepti has also added a century and five ODI centuries to her name. Thus, the all-rounder has proved her worth.

Speaking about the accolade, Dipti mentioned how immensely hard-work and family support has helped her. She also said how she was waiting for this for a long time. The Uttar Pradesh born cricketer thinks that the award has also brought responsibility for her. She admitted to have met cricketers who were earlier Arjuna Awardees.

“After getting this award, the responsibility of every player increases and they get motivated to perform better for the country. It was a dream of mine to get my name added in the list of the recipients of this award Whoever represents the country, if our name also gets mentioned, it feels good . I have met the cricketers and it feels really good,” the 23-year old added.
