- Bumrah's response to his batting took the micro-blogging platform by laugter
Jasprit Bumrah left the cricketing world in laughs, as he made his first ever half-century in first class cricket, earlier on Friday. Also, it was surprising that Bumrah lead the run-scorers list with Ajinkya Rahane, Rishabh Pant and Wriddhiman Saha in their ranks. While the others, including Hanuma Vihari and Mayank Agarwal failed, Bumrah took on the Australian bowlers with the pink ball.
Thus, Bumrah recorded his maiden fifty by hitting a six, as he was unbeaten at 55* runs in just 57 balls. With his best score, Bumrah, hence, took India to a decent total of 194 in the first innings, putting on a 71-run stand with Mohammed Siraj for the last wicket. He also received a hilarious guard-of-honour, as he made his way back to the dressing room.
Bumrah’s reaction sparks laughter
As if all this was not enough to make someone’s day with a dosage of humour, the Indian pacer later took to Twitter to share the picture with his followers. Hence his tweet read: “Try one new thing per day, they said.”
His tweet later left the social media platform in stitches as the fans took to comparing him with Hardik Pandya. Fans also praised him for his performance and were up for some laughs.
Although for a not-so-big total, the Indian bowlers put on a wonderful bowling display to restrict Australia A to just 108. Mohammad Shami led with the ball as Navdeep Saini also took three wickets. Siraj took a single wicket as Bumrah also starred with the ball, picking two wickets. Besides, skipper Alex Carey was the top scorer for Australia A with 32 runs.
