Shakib Al Hasan, Bangladesh all-rounder will feature in the IPL after a year ban on him by ICC. e was released by his franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) after his ban. In the 2021 Auction, Shakib was picked up by his former team the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Shakib Al Hasan was with KKR from 2012 to 2017 winning two titles with the team.  In 63 IPL matches, Shakib has 59 wickets and 746 runs with two fifties and the best bowling of 3/17.

Shakib was featured on a video chat with Espncricinfo. There he said he was looking forward to facing Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2021. He also called not leaving your room in bio-bubble the toughest thing about quarantine. Shakib rated his 2014 season as the best one with KKR, defeating (then) Kings XI Punjab in the final. In that year, he got 11 wickets and scored 227 runs.

Shakib’s Kolkata faces his former team, Sunrisers Hyderabad on April 11 in their first game to be held at Chennai. The IPL 2021 begins on April 9 with Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) facing defending champions Mumbai Indians (MI) in the tournament opener. It will take place at the MA Chidambaram stadium in Chennai.

The whole tournament will take place across six cities in India- Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, and Ahmedabad and all matches will be played behind closed doors.
